Sometimes I think it’s so unfair that boys get to have the control of what happens in relationships. I haven’t ever, and will probably never have the guts to be outspoken when it comes to telling someone I care about how I feel. Or even starting a conversation with them at all for that matter.. But for once, I wish that girls had an outlet.
If a boy has royally screwed things up, he can plan some public apology. If he likes a girl he can make an outrageous proclamation. Or, if he loves her and wants to forever, an awe-inspiring proposal. He can do any of these in the form of a song, a speech, a dance, poem, and the list goes on and on. He can even just call or text a girl. But he only has to do it once and the suckers we are for romance, we swoon and the issue is resolved. Even if the girl rejects him, at least he has the dignity in knowing he did what he could to try and not let something he cared about so much slip through his fingers.
Us girls? We have to wait.
Why is it we can only say ‘I love you, too?’ Why is it that that’s what is proper?
Not once have I heard of a girl making some grand gesture and the boy thank her in return for having the guts that he never did.
I’d just like to be able to tell someone how I feel without the fear of rejection because I’ve spoken out of turn. So that I could also have the chance to rid my future of any regrets.
Or maybe it’s not that i want to do any of these things as much as it is that I wish he’d do it first.

Wellllll… There’s this girl I always see when I look into mirrors…..
Jkay. Um. I’ll just say Taylor Swift.. Because even though she isn’t that musically talented, she got this huge career soooo fast and has dated every guy I have a crush on. :P
- Like did you know she’s dating Garrett Hedlund right now?! I mean, come. on.
And it’s funny because she’s so awkward.. but she still has it all. And I’m like dang.. I’m awkward and write songs about hating boys that have screwed me over.
Why can’t that be me?
(Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying she can’t sing.. She can. And her songs are cute. I’m a big fan. But she’s not Christina Aguilera or anything.)

Oh good golly.
- I turned 21. Therefore you can imagine the kind of crazy stuff that went down. Probably the most rebellious year of my life..

- Lived in my first apartment. Another contributing factor to my rebellion.
